Cultivating Compassion in Education

What is Waldorf Education?
Waldorf education was founded in 1919 by spiritual scientist and philosopher, Rudolf Steiner.
Waldorf teachers cultivate compassion for their students, forging deep understanding of each, enabling them to illuminate all students' strengths and offer the individualized support that each child requires to elevate their abilities through the educational experience.
Waldorf education supports the development of the whole child, recognizing each student as unique, with intellectual, artistic, and practical abilities to contribute to the class community. This educational philosophy fosters a lifelong love of learning through a curriculum that adapts to a child's developmental needs.
In Waldorf schools, teachers, parents, and staff collaborate to create a rich learning environment that engages students' minds, imaginations, and willpower. This is achieved through academic work woven with hands-on activities which require the students’ own collaboration, creative imagination, and ideas.
By nurturing the whole child, Waldorf education fosters not only academic knowledge but also a strong sense of self, moral purpose, and an understanding of the global community and its diverse spiritual traditions. This holistic approach empowers graduates to meet life's challenges with creativity and ingenuity.
