North Star Waldorf Academy is a tuition-free, inspiring, hands-on, arts-integrated education coming to North County San Diego.
Relationship-Based:
Waldorf teachers are trained to build authentic relationships and cultivate compassion and understanding for each of their students. Because Waldorf teachers loop through multiple grades with their classes, students and teachers build lasting bonds and students develop trust and reverence for their teachers.
Hands-On:
In Waldorf students are invited to engage in all learning by doing. Movement, games, and projects are just of a few of the ways that Waldorf teachers engage their students' whole beings to enliven and enrich education.
How Does Waldorf Education Support Compassionate Teaching?
Perhaps one of Waldorf education founder, Rudolf Steiner’s, most important ideas was that students need to be understood by their teachers. Waldorf teachers are trained to see beyond their students’ behavior and academic achievement, into the deeper layers of their humanity, and to cultivate deep understanding and care for each of them. This level of understanding supports the holistic development of each child, safeguarding their mental health and supporting their sense of self-confidence.
Arts-Integrated:
All curriculum from math, science, and history to global languages provides opportunities for students to create sculptures, drawings, paintings, plays, and more.
Inspiring:
All learning is brought in a creative and inspiring way. Teachers use storytelling, movement, and games to engaged students' hearts, minds, and bodies in all they learn.
