North Star Waldorf Academy Petition

ree

This past Tuesday night, the EUSD board voted not to approve our charter petition. While we are, of course, disappointed by the board’s decision, we remain deeply grateful and proud of the tremendous community support that has gathered around North Star Waldorf Academy. The voices of many Encinitas families--through letters to the board, written stories, and spoken testimony--have made clear a living desire for more educational choices within the North County community. We believe our petition reflects a strong and thoughtful plan to meet that need.

We extend heartfelt thanks to all who continue to stand with us throughout this process. Your commitment and generosity of spirit continue to be a powerful reminder of what community can accomplish when it comes together with hope and vision.

We are currently reviewing the process to this point and planning for next steps, keeping all options open, including an appeal to the county. We will continue to do everything we can to bring tuition-free Waldorf education to North County San Diego.

This effort is larger than one vote—it is part of a broader movement toward nurturing an education that fosters truth, beauty, and goodness for the next generation.

With gratitude,

Melissa Nilsen, Ph.D. Lead Petitioner for North Star Waldorf Academy
